Fondazione Biscozzi Rimbaud

Fondazione Biscozzi | Rimbaud was established on 19 February 2018 by Luigi Biscozzi and his wife Dominique Rimbaud and has been officially and legally recognized as being of public interest, promoting in particular the “Lecce Project.” The latter arose from Luigi Biscozzi’s desire to make his art collection available to the public in his home territory. Above all he wanted it to be “educational” in the loosest sense of the term. It is intended to be a place of cultural activity focusing on modern and contemporary art. The collection, of about two hundred works, is to be preserved as a permanent nucleus but also one which will grow with new acquisitions. It is intended to be a venue for research as well as for exhibitions, conferences, events and educational and popular activities.

LUIGI BISCOZZI was born on August 2, 1934 in Salice Salentino (Lecce). After completing his studies in Lecce, he moved to Milan to enroll at Bocconi University.
He graduated in 1959 and he worked in the accounting-fiscal sector at Montecatini, Montedison and later at the CGE (General Electric, Italy). In 1969 he established the tax department of PMM, today KPMG, of which he became a partner in 1972. In 1977, together with Augusto Fantozzi and Carlo Garavaglia, he founded his own professional firm (now Studio Biscozzi Nobili Piazza), which is today one of the major national and international tax consultancies. Curious and then passionate about the artistic movements from the post-war period onwards, he collected works from that period and, together with his wife, Dominique Rimbaud, set up the Fondazione Biscozzi | Rimbaud. He died in Salina, in the Aeolian Islands, on 12 September 2018.

DOMINIQUE RIMBAUD was born in Brignoles, Provence, in 1947. After studying in Avignon she enrolled at the Faculty of Law in Aix-en-Provence, where she graduated in 1969. In 1970 she moved to Paris, where she worked in the tax department of PMM, now KPMG. In 1972 she joined Luigi Biscozzi in Milan, where she settled. In the firm of lawyer Michele Strina, she became a consultant for French groups in Italy and a contact person for various Swiss law firms. In 1992 she resigned from professional life for family reasons. She then joined her husband, Luigi Biscozzi, in developing their art collection and, in 2018 setting up the Biscozzi | Rimbaud Foundation. She divides her time between Milan, Lecce and Provence.
